NEW LAWS FOR PSYCHICS
Posted by Billy Roberts on April 2, 2008 2:50 PM
The Fraudulent Medium's Act was brought into force in 1951 to prevent unscrupulous people from exploiting the vulnerable and naive. This is now to be replaced by the new Consumer Law and in particular the Unfair Commercial Practices Directive. As mediums, Psychics and Clairvoyants offer a service and therefore receive payment for their work, they will in fact be governed by these new regulations. This means that prophesying the future in anyway whatsoever, will, strictly speaking, now be illegal. Mediums will be obliged to make it clear to their clients that the information that they are giving should not be taken too seriously, and that the client must use common sense when acting upon the information they are given by the clairvoyant.
In 1952, veteran medium, Norman England, (now deceased) was brought to court by the Catholic Church, accused of prophesying the future with the use of psychometry. He was fined £100 and given a slap on the back of his hand. Norman England was the first modern day medium to be charged under the 1951 Fraudulent Medium's Act. This will surely eliminate many of the so-called mediums and clairvoyants that have seemingly sprung up from no where!
