PSYCHICS AND MEDIUMS GALORE!

Posted by Billy Roberts on July 30, 2007 2:47 PM |

There is little wonder that sceptics view the mediumistic profession with disdain and cynicism when there are so many mediums practising in theatres, hotel function rooms and social clubs etc. How is someone who knows absolutely nothing whatsoever about the subject supposed to know who is genuine or not, when there are so many to choose from?
With no laws or governing body to monitor how clairvoyants and mediums work, anyone can set up a business as a clairvoyant or medium. All that's needed is bit of patter, combined with a little knowledge of psychology, and away you go! Bear in mind, though, if you're going to do this you must first make certain that: (A) YOU DO NOT HAVE A CONSCIENCE: (B) YOU DON'T MIND WORKING WITHOUT A CODE OF ETHICS: (C) THAT YOU HAVE NO MORALS! (D) AND FINALLY, MAKE SURE YOU DON'T MIND TAKING MONEY OFF VULNERABLE AND DESPERATE INDIVIDUALS! If you fit this creteria then you probably will go far.
I'm only joking, of course!
1) Always visit a medium on recommendation. 2) Don't make a habit of visiting mediums.
3) Do not live your life by what clairvoyants and mediums tell you. 4) If you are recently bereaved give yourself time to recover before consulting a medium. 5) When visiting a medium or clairvoaynt, never allow them to lull you into a false sense of security so that you inadvertently tell them more than you should.

Finally, no medium has the power to call your loved ones back. The process of mediumship is experimental, it does not always work!

I've just read your article in the Psychic World newspaper for August 2007. It was so good to read as I have felt so "disillusioned" and "disappointed" too about Spiritualism. I have just read Ray Taylor's report on the SNU AGM. As a Trance Medium, when I read the Motions passed by the SNU and particularly the one about Trance in SNU Churches, I was horrified to read that someone offered a hatpin to test to see if a Trance Medium was genuine or not! Are they actually saying that they will sneak up on the Medium and stab them? I was sent into a state of shock and my face was burned recently by the behaviour of officers of a Church who were convinced that I was not genuine. I should explain that my work involves ectoplasm production. These officers laughed at me as I cried and shook. With an obvious lack of education and spirituality in parts of Spiritualism, what kind of example does the mention of a 'hatpin' strike set? Will I now also need a suit of armour to work? I have been extensively tested by the Society for Psychical Research, including being pinched, wired to various machines and tied down. Why can't fellow Spiritualists just sit and listen to the beautiful and inspiring words from the Spirit Guides? I have been working for 27 years publicly on the Spiritualist platform and occasionally in Theatres. All I wanted to do was share love and the knowledge that we are spiritual beings and not merely bags of bones. I can understand people leaving Spiritualism as like many other religious and political organisations, the plot is lost and only a slow meandering pointless story is left.
