NOT ALL MEDIUMS ARE CLAIRVOYANT

Posted by Billy Roberts on April 15, 2007 11:32 AM |

You would be forgiven for believing that all mediums can 'see' the so-called 'dead'. This is perhaps one of the greatest misconceptions where mediums and psychics are concerned. Although the majority of mediums frequently say 'I can see a gentlemen/lady..' whichever the case may be, he or she very often only senses the spirit presence. The mediumistic clairvoyant skill is comparatively rare. In fact, the majority of mediums are 'Clairsentient' - that is possessing the ability to 'sense' a spirit presence. This 'sensing' however, can be extremely specific, and through this skill a medium is very often able to give a detailed description of a spirit person, and may even give his or her name and also say how they died.
The three mediumistic skills are: CLAIRSENTIENCE, CLAIRVOYANCE AND CLAIRAUDIENCE.
Clairaudience is the ability to 'hear' , the Clairvoyance the ability to 'see' and Clairsentience the ability to 'sense.'

Not all mediums are clairvoyant, and you would be mistaken to think that all clairvoyants are mediums - they are not! Because a person can tell you about your future, and perhaps glean all sorts of information from a personal artefact, such as a ring or watch etc; does not mean that he or she has the ability to communicate with the so-called 'dead.' When you are seeking a medium to consult always go on recommendation, and avoid the claims made by some in the CLAIRVOYANT COLUMN of the newspaper, such as 'I CAN CONTACT YOUR LOVED ONES IN THE WORLD OF SPIRIT.' No medium can guarantee results, regardless of whether they claim to be the UK's most evidential medium.
Also, it is unwise, as well as extremely unhealthy to live your life by what psychics and mediums tell you. If you have very recently been bereaved, then I would suggest you allow the healing process to take place before you even consider consulting a medium. If not, there is always the chance that you will hear what you want to hear, and also inadvertently tell the medium what you want him or her to tell you. This defeats the object and will only deepen your pain. In saying this, however, the majority of mediums do work to a moral code; nonetheless, you still need to take care.

Thanks so much for this post. As a spirit medium I often have a hard time getting my readers who are trying to develop their own psychic abilities to understand that they do not have to "see" in order to be gifted. It's also nice to see others trying to get the word out that psychics don't make your future or your past and that the best voice to trust is your own. Thanks!

Granted they're fictional, but what would characters like Melinda on Ghost Whisperer fall under? Or Patricia Arquette on Medium?
